Carol takes on Cuba . . .

I completed a cycle challenge in Cuba to raise money for the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Trust. This organisation is supported by the women for women charity and aims to improve the health of women and babies. The challenge was an amazing experience. We cycled through parts of Cuba not normally visited by tourists. I made many friends on the trip, many of which I have kept in contact with.

The cycling was tough, sometimes covering as much as 70 miles a day, but very enjoyable. Together we managed to raise over half of a million pound, which we will present to Lord Robert Winston at the House of Lords next month. I personally exceeded my target of raising £3000. I would like to thank everyone who supported me throughout the year, both verbally and financially.

Many of you will not be surprised to know that I have already signed up to do my next cycle challenge in October 2010. This time it takes place in China and again I need to raise £3000, so any donations are once again most gratefully received.
